Pocket Groove
A discarded computer mouse reborn as a miniature vinyl player. The original PCB becomes the turntable platter, the scroll wheel carries the tiny record, and a coin-sized vinyl spins along to the song.

One of a weekly series of small fabrication exercises. The brief: take something you would normally throw away and give it a second life as an object with charm.
Stripping the mouse down to its PCB revealed two things worth keeping — the optical wheel and the button springs. The wheel became the spinning platter, the springs became the tonearm. A miniature paper record sits on top. The result is a pocket-sized object that plays music like a real turntable, just smaller and funnier.
